We are not part of you anymore
We have drifted away
Of cause we have tried to hold on,
But it's all in a maze of a mixed deal
We're neither yours nor theirs
We're somewhere,
Stuck in our own grafted culture, life
We're in a foreign land we call our home,
With a dream of one day kissing the land of our birth
And never to return again to this life
We have drifted away
Of cause we have tried to hold on,
But it's all in a maze of a mixed deal
We're neither yours nor theirs
We're somewhere,
Stuck in our own grafted culture, life
We're in a foreign land we call our home,
With a dream of one day kissing the land of our birth
And never to return again to this life
It was just supposed to be for a while
It was only for a moment,
Just until he was out of the way
It was only for a moment,
Just until he was out of the way
And make a way to revive our land
Everything that has failed it's him.
Do you remember when there was nothing in the shops?
No money in the banks,
No water in the dams
No electricity
No doctors
No medicines?
We left then, promising to make it right to the folks back home.
We really tried for a while
But somehow we feel we failed
We got stuck in our grafted life.
Do you remember when there was nothing in the shops?
No money in the banks,
No water in the dams
No electricity
No doctors
No medicines?
We left then, promising to make it right to the folks back home.
We really tried for a while
But somehow we feel we failed
We got stuck in our grafted life.
It was a small chance and we took it- grabbed it
We tried to fit in the foreign land
We twisted our tongues so we could speak like them
We borrowed their clothes, their surnames and their life.
Until they felt like we were squeezing them out of their homes
Still we stayed
Cause the situation of our birth land hadn't changed
Worse still, it seemed all had taken a turn for the worse
We were stuck.
Our language is not yours
And it's not theirs
It's a mixed deal of different visions
We are a strange people to you
We don't want to be part of you
Because coming home is a sign of a failed dream
Though we hadn't yet made it; given a while longer, maybe we could have.
But living in a foreign has its woes
Though it scares us off even thinking of your land being our home
Cause it spitted us way back
It didn't give us a chance way back
It was too harsh for us not to leap over to a glimpse of hope
We cannot come back
We're not coming back
Your land is not our home
Let the natives burn us alive
But this is now our home
But we know this
We are stuck in our own grafted life.
Cause it spitted us way back
It didn't give us a chance way back
It was too harsh for us not to leap over to a glimpse of hope
We cannot come back
We're not coming back
Your land is not our home
Let the natives burn us alive
But this is now our home
But we know this
We are stuck in our own grafted life.
